Roger Federer, Nadal & Djokovic Aims for 2012 Olympic Gold


Former World No.1 Roger Federer, king of Clay Rafael Nadal and inform man Novak Djokovic and British No.1 Andy Murray will be aiming for Olympic Gold at London Olympics 2012.

Top seeded tennis players in ATP World Tour, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray are eagerly waiting for the 2012 London Olympics and are in thirst to clinch the Olympic gold medal. All the top seeded players have expressed their thrust of gold medals at the Olympics games, which are scheduled to be held from July 28 to August 5, 2012 at the All England Club in London, which starts exactly 20 days after Wimbledon finals.

The 16-times grand slam champion Roger Federer has won a doubles gold medal with Stanislas Wawrinka at 2008 Beijing Olympics. Swiss Maestro is still hunting for his singles gold medal in Olympics. Roger Federer after clinching the sixth ATP World Tour title has said that, it's a very special occasion for the best players, and for all of us it is a fantastic experience. He hopes to play in his club and to win Olympic gold. Roger insisted that he is excited to be part of his club representing his country.

Rafael Nadal, 6-times Rolando Garros champion has won the 2008 Beijing Olympics in Singles. He is the first male player ranked in the top five to win the gold medal. The Spaniard has said that, he loves the Olympics. Nadal enjoyed playing the Olympics very much in 2008 in Beijing, not because he won for sure, that's something extra – but he loved the spirit of the Olympic Games. Rafa also added that that's an unbelievable experience being a part of Olympics. 10-time grand slam champion said that he enjoyed it a lot and would love to relive the experience and he has every intention to defend his Olympic men's singles title at the 2012 London Olympics.

3-time single grand slam title winner, Novak Djokovic had one of the best seasons this year winning 10-ATP world tour titles, which also includes three grand slam titles at Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open. Djokovic has isolated the 2012 Olympic gold medal as his 2012 priority stating that, 2012 London Olympic will be the greatest sporting event in history. Djokovic stated that it was really fortune fortunate enough to get a bronze medal in Beijing in 2008 and it was a remarkable experience.

The Serbian also said that playing the Olympics is a really unique experience at any time, but playing Olympics in London next year just after Wimbledon will be something hard to gain a gold medal. He added that, it is something that he is really, really looking forward to going there and doing his best.

The British player, Andy Murray who almost seemed to win his first Grand Slam title this year will have a great chance of winning a gold medal at London Olympics. Murray reached Australian Open final and appeared in the semis of US Open, Wimbledon and French Open. He also won 5-ATP tour titles.
So, it will be interesting to see how the players will recover from Wimbledon for the 2012 London Olympics.
